J.R.’s Open House Bring a Friend Day!

When:  Thursday April 2, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Binbrook Memorial Hall

Students and their friends will have the opportunity to take a class together and show their friends what they have learned over the past while (punching, kicking, blocking, etc.)!  We will be showcasing both kata and kumite to our new friends.  There will also be some games and prizes for our all who attend.
It will be a pizza party too so feel free bring some snacks to share with everyone!
Any new students who sign up for karate that night will receive a free uniform (gi)!  This is offered to new sign ups only.

Karate Updates

Last class for Binbrook is December 19, 2019. We are going to have Christmas party so feel free to please bring cookies, candies, or any finger foods to share with everyone. Let’s have some fun!

Classes resume on January 7, 2020 at 6:00 PM.  Please note that there is no class on January 30 and March 16 – 20 (March break).

Grading November 28, 2019

Just a reminder that karate grading for the Tuesday and Thursday classes will be held on November 28, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Requirement for grading:
– full white gi uniform
– know your kata, terminology
– knuckles push up:
—– minimum 5 push ups for White and Yellow belts
—– minimum 10 push ups for Orange and Green belts
—– minimum 20 push ups for advanced belts
Bring your sparring equipment including jocks for boys.
Please feel free to bring some snacks or drinks to share with everyone.

The annual Invitational Karate tournament has date has been set!
Invitation Karate Tournament hosted by J.R.’s Karate Club: June 1, 2019

Pre-Registration: $35.00
Payment must be received by May 25, 2019
Trophies or medals awarded for all participants
No Refunds
Spectators: $5.00 / person
Competition Start Time: 10:00 am
Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to start time (9:00 AM).
Please complete the form and bring it in to your next class. Full equipment is mandatory (karate gloves, karate headgear, karate boots, mouth guard and jocks for boys).
Come on out and join the tournament where you can showcase your kata and your fighting spirit!
