Class Cancellations Due to Weather & Long Weekend

Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know that I received a memo from the city stating that the recreation center will be closed due to the snow. As a result, we’ll be canceling tonight’s class. Additionally, Saturday’s class will also be canceled due to the long weekend.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll see you next Tuesday! Please stay safe on the roads.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & Exciting Announcements!

Dear Everyone,

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope you’re enjoying this festive season with your loved ones.

Thank you all for supporting our Christmas party and bringing such delicious snacks. A special thank you to Anna for organizing the fantastic games, and to Henry for providing the wonderful Christmas music. If anyone has a group picture from the event, please share it on the “J.R.’s Karate Club” Facebook page. We would love to see it!

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the following new members to our club:

Karate Holiday Party

Hi Everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that the karate party is tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Please bring your musical instruments so we can jam together! I expect all higher belts to be there to support the club!

Also, feel free to bring some snacks to share. There’s no need to wear your uniform— come in regular or Holiday casual clothes.

Holiday Schedule

Dear Karateka, Parents, and Guardians,

We would like to inform you that the Valley Park class on Saturday, December 21 will be canceled. Our last regular class of the year will be on Thursday, December 19. To celebrate the holiday season, please feel free to bring snacks such as soda, pizza, cookies, and finger foods. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to sincerely thank you for the incredible support and sacrifices you’ve made for your child/children over the years, months, and days. Last night was a true testament to all of those efforts. I also want to express my gratitude for all the delicious food you brought—thanks to you, we had a wonderful Grading Party!

Please note that the last day of karate classes for 2024 will be December 21, 2024. Classes will resume on January 7, 2025.

Kindly ensure that you are up to date with any outstanding payments so we can close the books for this year.

Grading is Tomorrow

Just a reminder that karate Grading will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Participants are expected to wear full white gi/uniform and sparring gear ( head, hand, foot gear, mouth guard and jocks for the boys).

As usual, there will be a post grading celebration, so please bring some snacks ie, (fruits, cookies, pizza, water, chips) to share with the class!

Grading is open for everyone to be proud of their accomplishments, so feel free to invite your relatives and friends for this big occasion!

Kyu/Intermediate Grading

To Karateka, Parents or Guardians,

Karate grading will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. All participants are expected to wear full uniform (white gi). Don’t forget to wear all gear including mouth guards and jocks for the boys.  This grading is for kyu belts and intermediate only.

Feel free to please bring some snacks such as fruit, cookies or drinks for the post-grading party! Invite your parents, grandparents and friends to participate in the celebration!

Halloween!

Just a reminder that Tuesday is our Halloween night. All are welcome to wear their costume. Feel free to bring some snacks to share with everybody.

Karate classes are cancelled on October 31 in celebration of Halloween! If you’re going out, please be careful and check or have your parents check the goodies before letting your children eat it, bring flashlights and wear something visible.
