Kyu/Intermediate Grading

To Karateka, Parents or Guardians,

Karate grading will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. All participants are expected to wear full uniform (white gi). Don’t forget to wear all gear including mouth guards and jocks for the boys.  This grading is for kyu belts and intermediate only.

Feel free to please bring some snacks such as fruit, cookies or drinks for the post-grading party! Invite your parents, grandparents and friends to participate in the celebration!

Halloween!

Just a reminder that Tuesday is our Halloween night. All are welcome to wear their costume. Feel free to bring some snacks to share with everybody.

Karate classes are cancelled on October 31 in celebration of Halloween! If you’re going out, please be careful and check or have your parents check the goodies before letting your children eat it, bring flashlights and wear something visible.

Tournament Results!

Congratulations for those student’s who participated in the Huntington Recreation Center Karate Tournament last Sunday. I’m very proud of all who participated in this tournament and showcased their dedication and talent. Together we managed to bring home trophies and ribbons we should all be very proud of. 

OUR NEW CLASS HOURS ARE FROM 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

J.R.’s Karate Club Winter session opens on October 1st. at Binbrook Memorial Hall. The greatest compliment we can receive is you referring your friends and family to us. So don’t forget to bring your friends, classmates and family members to opening night! You may also bring some snacks to share with everyone if you’d like.

Training for Karate Tournament

Dear Karateka,

I hope that you guys are enjoying your summer. Just a reminder that there’s a karate tournament on September 15, 2024 at Huntington Rec. Center. Participation fees are 40.00 for kata and Kumite. All participants should please call me to organize training sessions which are currently scheduled on the following dates:

  • August 23, 29 and 30
  • September 5, 6, 12 and 13

Regardless of participation in the tourney, everyone is welcome to join our training sessions!

No Summer Classes

Dear Parents and Karateka,

Summer classes will not be held this year as we have decided to take a break; however, we will be back again on the fall October 2024. A Special Thank you to Amy for relaying the message about our schedule changes in the past week. 

For those of you who haven’t updated their grading or monthly fee, please do so by e-transfer and for those who paid for the Summer classes will get their credit by e-transfer.

Northeast Karate 2024 Tournament

North East Karate Club is hosting a Karate Tournament on June 23, 2024. Please find attached the Tournament Registration Forms. If you are interested in participating, please print, complete and return these forms at your next class. Be aware that full equipment is required including a mouth guard and jocks (if applicable). Please place your order ASAP for any required equipment in order for it to arrive on time. Work on your kata. Be explosive, demonstrate power and don’t forget to kiai! Ensure that you participate in in-class sparring to practice your defensive and offensive strategies. Standard tournament rules will be in play which means that participants will need contact to achieve a point. First person to wins 3 points is declared the winner of the match.
