Dance and Karate Demonstration at 515 Arvin Ave Location December 12, 2014

J.R.’s Karate Club together with Lois Laxton Dance Studio would like to invite you, your friends and your family to a free Karate and Dance demonstration at the new Arvin Avenue dojo location.   The demonstration will consist of students from J.R.’s Karate Club providing a karate demonstration to the the Laxton Dance students and the Laxton Dance students providing a dance demonstration to the karate students.  The purpose of this demonstration is to encourage physical activity and all students will participate in both demonstrations. There is no charge for this event.

This  demonstration will be held on
Friday, December 12, 2014 between 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Holiday Schedule December 20, 2013 – January 6, 2014

J.R.’s Karate Club will be closed for the holiday season from December 20, 2013 – January 6, 2014.

Great performances at the interclub tournament!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all your participation at last weekend’s interclub tournament. I was really proud of everyone and their performances.  A special thank you to all the judges, scorekeepers and volunteers for your help and support.

December 7, 2013:  Advanced belt grading will be held at Sherwood Park at 10:00 am.

December 10 to 13, 2013:  Regular class grading will be held at various location.  Further information will follow in future posts.  Please bring some snacks to share with everybody after grading!

December 21, 2013:  The club’s Holiday Party will be held at Sherwood Park at 2:00 PM.   All club members are invited.  We hope to see everyone there.  Visit http://wp.me/p2X0oz-6j for more information.

Holiday Party – December 21, 2013

We want everyone to be safe this holiday season.  Due to severe weather conditions, J.R.’s Karate Club has rescheduled the Holiday Party to December 21, 2013.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

In light of this change, we kindly ask everyone to RSVP for this alternate date.

Please join us at this year’s pot luck holiday party at Sherwood Park Dojo!  The festivities start at 2:00 PM.  Please bring a pot luck dish to share with the all of the guests. Let Lou know if there are any food allergies which the group should be made aware of.

Santa will hand out gifts!  Each parent/guardian supplies one wrapped gift marked with their child’s name on it.  The gifts are placed in a central location where Santa Claus will call out each persons name and hand out the gift.

Santa will be joining us at 3:00 PM sharp to hand out gifts, so make sure all participants are present at that time!

After Santa hands out gifts there will be a movie for all the guests to watch.  The dojo mats will be layed out; however, it is suggested to bring something soft to sit on such as a blanket.  Movie to be determined.

Thank you to those who came out to this year’s annual karate picnic!

A special thanks goes out to all those who brought delicious dishes to share, to those who donated prizes, to Sensei Julie Bieri for running all the games, and to Mrs. Lou Ramirez for the delicious Shishkabobs!

Annual Family Potluck Picnic June 22, 2013

Rain or Shine!

Mt. Hope Community Center from 10:00 am to dusk

Join us at the Annual J.R.’s Karate Club Family Picnic!  This is a social outdoor day of fun and games.  All clubs including Bellmoore and St. Mark’s School locations are invited!

Activities  include volleyball, soccer, baseball, egg toss, water balloon fight, egg-on-spoon race, 3 legged race, blind pudding eating contest, and more.   Prizes for the kids and adults are greatly appreciated.

Pot Luck lunch will be served at ~12:00 pm

Roast Pork Dinner will be served at ~4:00 pm

Kindly regard the strict No Nut Environment in effect due to nut allergies

What to Bring:

  • your favorite dish and dessert or salad to share with others so you get to taste their favorite dish too!  There will be a BBQ for raw meats  like kabobs, steak, pork chops, hamburgers or sausages.
  • your own plates, cutlery and drinks
  • a change of clothes (in case you get covered in egg or soaked in water)
  • lawn chairs and sporting equipment such as baseball glove/bat, soccer ball, volleyball, etc.

Complete the contact form below to confirm your attendance (specify how many people are  in your group) and let us know what dish we can expect so there aren’t many duplicates.  Alternatively, let  Lou know these details at your next class or email us.
